About Shane Jarvie-Kohn

I’m Shane Jarvie-Kohn, a Melbourne-based audio engineer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, award-winning sound designer and founder of Moreish Studios. I specialise in mastering, mixing, recording, music production, sound design and audio post-production.

Over more than 15 years in the Australian and international recording and live music industries, I’ve worked across a wide range of genres and projects—from independent artists through to major-label releases. My credits include K-Pop artist Tiffany Young of Girls’ Generation and Australian songwriter Skyscraper Stan & The Commission Flats.

I enjoy moving between established and emerging artists because every project brings something different. No artist or project is treated as too big or too small; the same care, attention and respect for the music applies at every level.

Moreish Studios brings my experience and resources together in one place, making it easier to move from the earliest creative ideas through recording, mixing and the final master. My goal is to keep the process clear, supportive and enjoyable so artists can concentrate on their music.

I have also received two Australian Screen Sound Guild (ASSG) Awards for Best Sound for an Animated Short Film, recognising my work and longstanding interest in sound beyond music alone.

The Band: Our Music Production Team

A special part of Music Production at Moreish Studios is our core group of trusted session musicians. They can work together as a complete band or contribute individually, depending on exactly what your song needs.

The team can record additional instrumental parts, help develop songwriting and arrangements, or perform as the supporting band during a studio session. You can choose only the musicians and services that suit the project rather than committing to a fixed package.

Across the team, their experience spans independent Australian artists, international releases and major-label work, including music connected with Tiffany Young of Girls’ Generation. Their role is not to impose a single house sound—it is to listen, understand the artist’s direction and bring the right musical ideas to the song.

  • Cahill Kelly: songwriting and arrangement, guitar, piano, keyboards and more.
  • Andrew Braidner: drums and percussion.
  • Lain Pocock: bass guitar.

The musicians work as independent contractors and can be arranged through Moreish Studios for $300 (AUD) per musician, per song. For larger projects, we can also open direct communication so longer-term arrangements can be discussed with them individually.

We generally begin by completing one song before planning a larger EP or album. For a broader breakdown of the process and likely project costs, read How Much Does a Music Producer Cost?
